  • Abstract A manifestly Lorentz covariant form of Faraday's law is presented. This leads to a general expression of the electromotive force induced in a circuit moving in an arbitrary manner, including deformations, as determined by an observer in uniform motion in the given reference frame. This quantity is a Lorentz scalar, but it depends on the state of motion of the observer.
