This paper aims to evaluate the waste cotton quality and its commercialization. The recycled cotton demand seems to be increased day by day: although the lower quality of the resulting items is the biggest barrier to cotton recycling. A thorough analysis of recycled cotton processes is therefore necessary from separation/shredding to completion. To that end, textile wastes made of pre-consumer cotton were systematically collected from the spinning mill. After pretreatment of cotton waste…

The Scenario of Textile Industry in Malaysia: A Review for Potentiality

This study explains the current situation and the significance of the textile and clothing industries in Malaysia, as well as how they are depicted. Textiles and clothes are the most important

Cotton waste recycling : Quantitative and qualitative assessment

Reuse of cotton and recycle paper mill waste as building material

Effect of hot mercerization on liquid ammonia treated cottons

Liquid ammonia treated cotton fiber and fabric were mercerized with 20% sodium hydroxide (NaOH) aqueous solution for 5 min at 20°C to 100°C. X-ray diffraction patterns of the cottons were measured

Evaluation of Cotton Fibre Properties in Compact Yarn Spinning Processes and Investigation of Fibre and Yarn Properties

Fibre properties are influential factors for yarn properties. Cotton, whose physical properties vary depending on the cultivation region, is still a very common fibre used in the textile industry.

Combinative Scouring, Bleaching, and Cationization Pretreatment of Greige Knitted Cotton Fabrics for Facilely Achieving Salt-Free Reactive Dyeing

Results show promising prospects of this combinative pretreatment of greige knitted cotton fabrics in real application with much higher dye fixation and color yield could be realized on the pretreated cotton in salt-free reactive dyeing.

Heavy metals removal from aqueous environments by electrocoagulation process– a systematic review

The objective of the present manuscript is to review the potential of electrocoagulation process for the treatment of domestic, industrial and agricultural effluents, especially removal of heavy metals from aqueous environments.

The relationship between instrumental leaf grade and Shirley Analyzer trash content in cotton lint

With the increasing acceptance of high volume instrument (HVI™) instrumental leaf grade index in both domestic and international trading, there is a continued interest in the relationship between

Effect of reaction conditions on the properties and behavior of wood cellulose nanocrystal suspensions.

Increased acid-to-pulp ratio reduced the dimensions of the nanocrystals thus produced and the critical concentration was increased and the biphasic range became narrower; a suspension made from a bleached kraft eucalyptus pulp gave very similar properties to the softwood nanocrystal suspension when prepared under similar hydrolysis conditions.

Variation and relationship of quality and near infrared spectral characteristics of cotton fibers collected from multi-location field performance trials

Standardized instrument for testing of cotton (SITC) and advanced fiber information system (AFIS) measurements are increasingly being utilized as primary and routine means of acquiring fiber quality
