Chronic Kidney Disease and Mineral Bone Disorder (CKD-MBD) is often present in dialysis patients and is associated with increased hospitalization, cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. It is manifested by abnormalities in serum calcium, phosphate, parathyroid hormone (PTH) or vitamin D metabolism.
