We use cosmography to present constraints on the kinematics of the Universe, without postulating any underlying theoretical model. To this end, we use a Monte Carlo Markov Chain analysis to perform comparisons to the supernova Ia Union 2 compilation, combined with the Hubble Space Telescope measurements of the Hubble constant, and the Hubble parameter datasets. We introduce a sixth order cosmographic parameter and show that it does not enlarge considerably the posterior distribution when…

On the theory and applications of modern cosmography
TLDR
The main purpose of this review is to focus on the key features of cosmography, emphasising both the strategy for obtaining the observable cosmographic series and pointing out any drawbacks which might plague the standardcosmographic treatment.
Cosmological degeneracy versus cosmography: a cosmographic dark energy model
In this work, we use cosmography to alleviate the degeneracy among cosmological models, proposing a way to parametrize matter and dark energy in terms of cosmokinematics quantities. The recipe of
Cosmographic Constraints and Cosmic Fluids
The problem of reproducing dark energy effects is reviewed here with particular interest devoted to cosmography. We summarize some of the most relevant cosmological models, based on the assumption
Constraints and cosmography of $$\Lambda $$CDM in presence of viscosity
In this work, we study two scenarios of the Universe filled by a perfect fluid following the traditional dark energy and a viscous fluid as dark matter. In this sense, we explore the most simple case
Angular distribution of cosmological parameters as a probe of inhomogeneities: a kinematic parametrisation
We use a kinematic parametrisation of the luminosity distance to measure the angular distribution on the sky of time derivatives of the scale factor, in particular the Hubble parameter H_0, the
Reconstructing cosmographic parameters from different cosmological models: case study. Interacting new generalized Chaplygin gas model
In this paper, we present a method to reconstruct cosmographic parameters, $$\{q,j,s,l\}$${q,j,s,l} and their evolution from particular cosmological models. In this method inspired by dynamical
Connecting early and late epochs by f(z)CDM cosmography
The cosmographic approach is gaining considerable interest as a model-independent technique able to describe the late expansion of the universe. Indeed, given only the observational assumption of the
General cosmography model with spatial curvature
We adopt a cosmographic approach in order to determine spatial curvature (i.e. ΩK), combining the latest release of cosmic chronometer (CC) data, the Pantheon sample of Type Ia supernovae
Toward unbiased estimations of the statefinder parameters
Updated constraints on f(R) gravity from cosmography
We address the issue of constraining the class of $f(\mathcal{R})$ gravity able to reproduce the observed cosmological acceleration, by using the so-called cosmography of the Universe. We consider a
