General relativity does not allow one to specify the topology of space, leaving the possibility that space is multi-- rather than simply--connected. We review the main mathematical properties of multi--connected spaces, and the different tools to classify them and to analyse their properties. Following the mathematical classification, we describe the different possible muticonnected spaces which may be used to construct universe models. We briefly discuss some implications of multi… Expand

Inquiring the Unruh–DeWitt detector about the global property of spacetime
• Hongsong Sun, Kaituo Zhang
• Physics
• 2021
We investigate the effect of spatial compactification on the transition rate of an inertial or accelerated Unruh–Dewitt detector coupled to an untwisted or twisted massless quantum scalar field. FourExpand
Operator ordering ambiguity and third quantization
• Physics
• 2019
In this paper, we will constrain the operator ordering ambiguity of Wheeler-DeWitt equation by analyzing the quantum fluctuations in the universe. This will be done using a third quantized formalism.Expand
New five-dimensional Bianchi type magnetically charged hairy topological black hole solutions in string theory
• Physics
• 2019
We construct black hole solutions to the leading order of string effective action in five dimensions with the source given by dilaton and magnetically charged antisymmetric gauge $B$-field. PresenceExpand
QFT and Topology in Two Dimensions: $$\mathrm{SL}(2, {{\mathbb {R}}})$$-Symmetry and the de Sitter Universe
• Physics
• 2020
We study bosonic Quantum Field Theory on the double covering $\widetilde{dS}_{2}$ of the 2-dimensional de Sitter universe, identified to a coset space of the group $SL(2,{\Bbb R})$. The latter actsExpand
Casimir force on a light front
• Physics
• 2020
Depending on the point of view, the Casimir force arises from variation in the energy of the quantum vacuum as boundary conditions are altered or as an interaction between atoms in the materials thatExpand
Electromagnetic vacuum fluctuations and topologically induced motion of a charged particle
• Physics
• 2019
We show that a nontrivial topologies of the spatial section of Minkowski space-time allow for motion of a charged particle under quantum vacuum fluctuations of the electromagnetic field. This is aExpand
