BACKGROUND To explore the correlation between FTO (fat mass and obesity associated) gene, which is associated with 3 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) of fat mass and obesity, type 2 diabetes and body mass index (BMI) in the Uygur population in northwest China.
