The present study was conducted with 20 bottle gourd genotypes sown in Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three replication in the year 2016-2017 to assess the nature and magnitude of association among yield and its contributing traits in bottle gourd. Correlation studies revealed that yield highly significant and positive correlation of fruit yield per vine with fruit length, fruit girth, average fruit weight and 100 seed weight but significant and negative correlation of yield per vine with… Expand

Correlation and path coefficient analyses of quantitative traits in bottle gourd [Lagenaria siceraria (Mol.) Standl.] genotypes
TLDR
It is demonstrated that selection for increased number of fruit per plant, fruit diameter and average fruit weight may improve genetic gain in total fruit yield in bottle gourd breeding programme. Expand

Correlation Studies and Path Analysis in Bottle Gourd
TLDR
The overall analysis reveals that fruit yield was positively and significant correlated with fruit flesh thickness, number of fruits per vine and number of fruit pickings, while selecting a good hybrids for enhancing the yield of bottle gourd. Expand
Variability, correlation and path analysis in pumpkin (Cucurbita moschata L.)
TLDR
Overall, the results indicated that days to first female flowering, number of female flowers, fruit length, fruit breadth and single fruit weight can be used as useful selection criteria to increase fruit yield/plant in pumpkin. Expand
Genetic Variability, Correlation and Path Co-Efficient Analysis in Bottle Gourd (Lagenaria siceraria L.)
TLDR
High heritability with high genetic advance in percent of mean was observed for yield per plant and days of first male flowering indicated that this trait was under additive gene control and selection for genetic improvement for this trait would be effective. Expand
Hypolipidemic and antihyperlipidemic effects of Lagenaria siceraria (Mol.) fruit extracts.
TLDR
Both the chloroform and alcoholic extract exhibited more significant effects in lowering total cholesterol, triglycerides and low density lipoproteins along with increase in HDL as compared to the others, while petroleum ether extract did not show the significant effects. Expand
Correlation and Causation.
