Following the method of Hoenselaers and Perj´ es, we present a new corrected and dimensionally consistent set of multipole gravitational and electromagnetic moments for stationary axisymmetric spacetimes. Furthermore, we use our results to compute the multipole moments, both gravitational and electromagnetic, of a Kerr–Newman black hole.
Calculation of multipole moments of axistationary electrovacuum spacetimes
The multipole moments of stationary axially symmetric vacuum or electrovacuum spacetimes can be expressed in terms of the power series expansion coefficients of the Ernst potential on the axis. In
Multipole moments of axisymmetric spacetimes
In this thesis we study multipole moments of axisymmetric spacetimes. Using the recursive definition of the multipole moments of Geroch and Hansen we develop a method for computing all multipole mo
Explicit multipole moments of stationary axisymmetric spacetimes
In this thesis we study multipole moments of axisymmetric spacetimes. Using the recursive definition of the multipole moments of Geroch and Hansen we develop a method for computing all multipole
A note on magnetic generalizations of the Kerr and Kerr–Newman solutions
A concise form of the asymptotically flat metrics describing the simplest magnetic generalizations of the Kerr and Kerr–Newman spacetimes is presented. The explicit formulae for the corresponding
Gravitational multipole moments from Noether charges
A bstractWe define the mass and current multipole moments for an arbitrary theory of gravity in terms of canonical Noether charges associated with specific residual transformations in canonical
The influence of the Lande g-factor in the classical general relativistic description of atomic and subatomic systems
We study the electromagnetic and gravitational fields of the proton and electron in terms of the Einsteinian gravity via the introduction of an arbitrary Lande g-factor in the Kerr–Newman solution.
Simple metric for a magnetized, spinning, deformed mass
We present and discuss a 4-parameter stationary axisymmetric solution of the Einstein-Maxwell equations able to describe the exterior field of a rotating magnetized deformed mass. The solution arises
Equatorial symmetry/antisymmetry of stationary axisymmetric electrovac spacetimes
In this second paper devoted to the equatorial symmetry/antisymmetry of stationary axisymmetric electrovac spacetimes, we show how two theorems proved in our previous paper (Ernst et al 2006 Class.
Gravitational multipole moments for asymptotically de Sitter spacetimes
We provide a prescription to compute the gravitational multipole moments of compact objects for asymptotically de Sitter spacetimes. Our prescription builds upon a recent definition of the

Multipole moments of axisymmetric electrovacuum spacetimes
The electromagnetic and gravitational multipole moments of stationary sources in general relativity are obtained in the conformal picture in terms of the expansion coefficients of the electrovacuum
Multipole moments of axisymmetric systems in relativity
An algorithm is developed for computing the nth gravitational multipole moment of an asymptotically flat, empty, stationary axisymmetric space‐time. The moments are expressed in terms of the
The multipole expansion of stationary Einstein–Maxwell fields
The stationary Einstein–Maxwell equations are rewritten in a form which permits the introduction of (Geroch‐) multipole moments for asymptotically flat solutions. Some known theorems on the moments
Multipole moments of stationary space-times
Multipole moments are defined for stationary, asymptotically flat, source‐free solutions of Einstein's equation. There arise two sets of multipole moments, the mass moments and the angular momentum
The multipole structure of stationary space‐times
A definition of multipole moments for stationary asymptotically flat solutions of Einstein’s equations is proposed. It is shown that these moments characterize a given space‐time uniquely.

TLDR
It is shown that several features of the emitted waves carry, encoded within themselves, the values of all the body’s multipole moments Ml, Sl (and thus, also the details of its full spacetime geometry), and their moments are encoded in the time evolution of the waves’ phase Φ(t).
Multipole Moments. II. Curved Space
Multipole moments are defined for static, asymptotically flat, source‐free solutions of Einstein's equations. The definition is completely coordinate independent. We take one of the 3‐surfaces V,
Multipole expansions of gravitational radiation
This paper brings together, into a single unified notation, the multipole formalisms for gravitational radiation which various people have constructed. It also extends the results of previous
