Abstract 1776 E-cadherin gene is aberrantly spliced in CLL cells. This results in a transcript that lacks exon 11 and is non-functional. As CLL specimens express higher proportion of these transcripts as compared to normal B cells, this aberrant splicing is a mechanism of E-cadherin inactivation that results in wnt pathway activation.
