Quality ranking of finished products plays an important role in manufacturing systems. In this paper, we address the problem of quality ranking of electronically commutated (EC) motors by subjecting each finished product to a short measurement session. Based on the features calculated from these measurements, the motor quality is assessed by introducing a novel copula-based decision support system (DSS). The proposed DSS provides a full ranking of EC motors by integrating expert’s preferences…
DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM CLASSIFICATION AND ITS APPLICATION IN MANUFACTURING SECTOR: A REVIEW
The purpose of this paper is to review decision support system application trend in manufacturing sector. Following the introduction of decision support system, the paper has discussed the
From Qualitative to Quantitative Evaluation Methods in Multi-criteria Decision Models
TLDR
The thesis addresses the decision making problematic of ranking a finite set of qualitative options that are sorted into a set of classes and aims to obtain such rankings with least effort, i.e., using only the information already available in the decision table.
Effects of zero defects approach-a case study at an Indian industry
Quality is free when reaches zero defects, quality is measured various aspects. The rework is carried out when the product finish not up to the standard, which added additional expenditure. On other
Modelling decision knowledge for the evaluation of water management investment projects
TLDR
This work has developed a novel hybrid multi-criteria decision method that integrates quantitative and qualitative criteria value domains in the same decision-making model and applied it to a real-world case involving a large multi-utility operator.
Approximating DEX Utility Functions with Methods UTA and ACUTA
TLDR
Results of a preliminary study are presented in which the performance of two wellknown MCDA methods UTA and ACUTA are experimentally assessed to approximate qualitative DEX utility functions with piecewise-linear marginal utility functions to improve the sensitivity of qualitative models and provide a better insight in DEx utility functions.
Statistical Condition Monitoring Tool
TLDR
The crucial parameters for the effectiveness of a CM system are the threshold values that define when a specific alarm is to be raised and either too high of an alarm rate or missed alarms reduces the reliability of the CM system.

Systematic decision process for intelligent decision making
TLDR
Systematic decision process (SDP) for solving Multiple Criteria Decision Making problems with application for manufacturing location selection has advantages in terms of simplicity and accuracy compared to existing methods such as Analytical Hierarchy Process.
A Method for Ranking Non-Linear Qualitative Decision Preferences using Copulas
TLDR
This paper addresses the problem of option ranking in qualitative evaluation models by proposing a new method for ranking discrete non-linear decision maker preferences based on copula functions.
Ranking of qualitative decision options using copulas
TLDR
A new QQ-based method is proposed in which copulas are introduced as an aggregation utility instead of linear functions to model the non-linear dependences among attributes and classes.
Construction of quality control charts by using probability and fuzzy approaches and an application in a textile company
TLDR
It’s seen that fuzzy theory performs better than probability theory in monitoring the product quality.

Accuracy and robustness of decision making techniques in condition based maintenance
TLDR
This paper presents a study on Type I and Type II errors that are inherent in every technique for decision making in condition based maintenance, and shows that accuracy and robustness should be taken into consideration when maintenance decisions are taken.
DEX: An Expert System Shell for Decision Support •
TLDR
An approach to decision making that integrates multi-attribute techniques with expert systems is described, based on the explicit artic ulation of qualitative decision knowledge which is represented by a tree of attributes and dec ision rules.
