17 patients with moderate to severe Raynaud's phenomenon were entered into a 6 week randomised double-blind crossover study to compare the efficacy of nifedipine with that of placebo. Nifedipine significantly reduced the frequency of attacks and also the severity of attacks, which was assessed by the patients on a linear analogue scale.
