We discuss the interaction of proteins dissolved in aqueous solution with spherical polyelectrolyte brushes (SPB). The SPB consist of a solid core particle of colloidal dimensions (ca. 100 nm in diameter) onto which long polyelectrolyte chains have been grafted.
