Nonlinear mathematical models of synchronous reluctance motors are developed in the machine (abc) and in the quadrature, direct and zero (qd0) variables. Kirchhoff's voltage law and Newton's second law are used to find the differential equations which map the circuitry and torsional-mechanical dynamics. The Park transformation is applied in model developments to derive the differential equations in the rotor reference frame.
