As a result of a two months stay in Madeira, Portugal, 747 samples of fungi were col1ected, being 249 the identified taxa. A catalogue ofthem is presented here The main object ofthis study is to search the fungi growing in Laurus forests (Iaurisylva), which ta­ kes a 30 %, approximately, ofthe island territory, while the rest ofthe island is occupied by trees in­ troduced from America and Europe.
