Continuous or ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (CBPM or ABPM) is becoming a useful tool in the early detection of hypertension in children and adolescents. With increased obesity in pediatrics, chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia and metabolic syndrome which was more commonly seen in adults in the early years, can now be seen in this population.
