Mesoporous silica films can be grown at solid±liquid and liquid±vapor interfaces through an interfacial silica±surfac-tant self-assembly process, [1±8] and more recently, the formation of continuous mesoporous silica films by sol-gel dip-coating has been reported by Lu et al. [9] All of these films were formed using acidic conditions, [10] and low molecular weight surfactants.
