A modular patch-clamp amplifier was constructed based on the Strickholm design, which was initially published in 1995. Various parts of the amplifier such as the power supply, input circuit, headstage, feedback circuit, output and nulling circuits were redesigned to use recent software advances and fabricated using the common lithographic printed circuit board fabrication process and commercially available electronic components. The calibration, validation, and regular recording procedures…
Neuron Emulator Implementations for Patch-Clamp and Longitudinal Electrode Settings
TLDR
The implemented neuron emulator circuits provide the electrical properties of a neuron as seen from a single patch-clamp electrode with a defined action potential (AP) charge output and offers multi-channel output with an adjustable phase delay.
The OpenPicoAmp-100k: an open-source high-performance amplifier for single channel recording in planar lipid bilayers
TLDR
An upgraded version of the previously designed open-source lipid bilayer amplifier, the OpenPicoAmp-100k is proposed, suitable both for the use in introductory courses in biophysics and neurosciences at the undergraduate level and for scientific research.
Implementation of a neuron emulator for patch-clamp settings
TLDR
Measured results from a prototype show that the neuron emulator meets the design specifications and is capable of performing voltage clamp and rate responsive current clamp.
