We consider two kinds of higher dimensional models which upon dimensional reduction lead to Jordan-Brans-Dicke-type effective actions in four dimensions with the scale factor of the extra dimensions playing the role of the JBD field. These models are characterized by the potential for the JBD field which arises from the process of dimensional reduction, and by the coupling of the inflaton sector with the JBD field in the Jordan frame. Taking into account the fact that these models allow the…
An accelerating universe and dynamical compactification of extra dimensions
We study a (4 + D)-dimensional Kaluza–Klein cosmology with a Robertson–Walker type metric having two scale factors a and R, corresponding to a D-dimensional internal space and four-dimensional
Expanding universe and dynamical compactification using Yang-Mills instantons
A bstractWe consider an eight-dimensional Einstein-Yang-Mills theory to explore whether Yang-Mills instantons formed in extra dimensions can induce the dynamical instability of our four-dimensional
Evolution of primordial black holes in Jordan–Brans–Dicke cosmology
We consider the evolution of primordial black holes in a generalized Jordan-BransDicke cosmological model where both the Brans-Dicke scalar field and its coupling to gravity are dynamical functions
Vacuum Energy and Primordial Black Holes in Brans-Dicke Theory
In our work, we study the evolution of primordial black holes within the context of Brans-Dicke theory by assuming present universe as vacuum dominated. We also consider the accretion of radiation,
Effect of accretion on primordial black holes in Brans-Dicke theory
We consider the effect of accretion of radiation in the early Universe on primordial black holes in Brans-Dicke theory. The rate of growth of a primordial black hole due to accretion of radiation in
EVOLUTION OF PRIMORDIAL BLACK HOLE MASS SPECTRUM IN BRANS–DICKE THEORY
We investigate the evolution of primordial black hole mass spectrum by including both accretion of radiation and Hawking evaporation within Brans–Dicke (BD) cosmology in radiation-, matter- and
Astrophysical constraints on primordial black holes in Brans-Dicke theory
We consider cosmological evolution in Brans-Dicke theory with a population of primordial black holes. Hawking radiation from the primordial black holes impacts various astrophysical processes during
Conical diffraction asymptotics: fine structure of Poggendorff rings and axial spike
The paraxial propagation of a beam incident along an optic axis of a biaxial crystal slab is studied in detail. Analytical descriptions are given for the Poggendorff bright and dark rings (associated
