The Murchison Widefield Array (MWA) team has derived new upper limits on the spherically averaged power spectrum of the 21-cm signal at six redshifts in the range z β‰ˆ 6.5βˆ’8.7. We use these upper limits and a Bayesian inference framework to derive constraints on the ionization and thermal state of the intergalactic medium (IGM) as well as on the strength of a possible additional radio background. We do not find any constraints on the state of the IGM for z & 7.8 if no additional radio background… Expand

Astrophysical information from the Rayleigh-Jeans Tail of the CMB
One of the explanations for the recent EDGES-LOW band 21-cm measurements of a strong absorption signal around 80 MHz is the presence of an excess radio background to the Cosmic Microwave Background… Expand

Model-independent evidence in favour of an end to reionization by z β‰ˆ 6
We present new upper limits on the volume-weighted neutral hydrogen fraction, , at z~5-6 derived from spectroscopy of bright quasars. The fraction of the Lyman-alpha and Lyman-beta forests that is… Expand
21 CENTIMETER TOMOGRAPHY OF THE INTERGALACTIC MEDIUM AT HIGH REDSHIFT
We investigate the 21 cm signature that may arise from the intergalactic medium (IGM) prior to the epoch of full reionization (z > 5). In scenarios in which the IGM is reionized by discrete sources… Expand
NEW LIMITS ON 21 cm EPOCH OF REIONIZATION FROM PAPER-32 CONSISTENT WITH AN X-RAY HEATED INTERGALACTIC MEDIUM AT z = 7.7
We present new constraints on the 21 cm Epoch of Reionization (EoR) power spectrum derived from three months of observing with a 32 antenna, dual-polarization deployment of the Donald C. Backer… Expand
Quantitative Constraints on the Reionization History from the IGM Damping Wing Signature in Two Quasars at z > 7
During reionization, neutral hydrogen in the intergalactic medium (IGM) imprints a damping wing absorption feature on the spectrum of high-redshift quasars. A detection of this signature provides… Expand
A lower limit of Ξ”z > 0.06 for the duration of the reionization epoch
TLDR
An all-sky spectrum of the 21-centimetre line of atomic hydrogen in the early Universe, corresponding to the redshift range 6 < z  < 13 for the 21 centimetres line, shows that reionization happened rapidly and there should be a characteristic signature visible against the smooth foreground in an all-Sky spectrum. Inferring the astrophysics of reionization and cosmic dawn from galaxy luminosity functions and the 21-cm signal
The properties of the first galaxies, expected to drive the Cosmic Dawn (CD) and the Epoch of Reionization (EoR), are encoded in the 3D structure of the cosmic 21-cm signal. Parameter inference from… Expand
A simulation-calibrated limit on the H i power spectrum from the GMRT Epoch of Reionization experiment
The Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope Epoch of Reionization experiment is an ongoing effort to measure the power spectrum from neutral hydrogen at high redshift. We have previously reported an upper… Expand

We study the evolution of the ionization state of the intergalactic medium (IGM) at the end of the reionization epoch using moderate resolution spectra of a sample of nineteen quasars at 5.74 5.7:… Expand
The Radio Background below 100 MHz
The recent detection of the "cosmic dawn" redshifted 21 cm signal at 78 MHz by the EDGES experiment differs significantly from theoretical predictions. In particular, the absorption trough is roughly… Expand
