TO THE EDITOR—Fungal serologic markers are proving to be invaluable for the diagnosis of occult fungal infections. Fisher et al’s 6-year (2004–2010) analysis of galactomannan index (GMI) in hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) patients with invasive pulmonary aspergillosis (IPA) is a welcome contribution to the literature [1].
