In a Gallup survey of general practitioners, rheumatologists, and arthritis patients in six European countries, results indicated that nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are widely prescribed by physicians for their patients with arthritis. In addition, the surveyed patients reported that NSAIDs were effective in relieving arthritic pain, the most prominent symptom of their disease. Thus, NSAIDs continue to be useful and valuable drugs in the management of arthritis.
