For investigation of the genes of proteins associated in vivo with botulinum neurotoxin (BoNT), polymerase chain reaction (PCR) experiments were carried out with oligonucleotide primers designed to regions of the nontoxic-nonhemagglutinin (NTNH) gene ofClostridium botulinum type C.
