We present a distributed, decentralized method for coordinated scheduling of charge/discharge intervals of storage capacities in a utility grid integrated microgrid. The decentralized algorithm is based on a consensus scheme and solves an optimisation problem with the objective of minimising, by use of storage capacities, the power flow over a transformer substation from/to the utility grid integratedmicrogrid. It is shown that when using this coordinated scheduling algorithm, load profile…

Distributed coordination of energy-storage capacities in virtual microgrids
An approach for distributed coordinated scheduling of storage capacities is presented and a comparative case-study scenario are presented, to illustrate the concept and show the effect of coordination for prevention of mutual charginy/discharging of storage capacity in a VMG.
A Framework for a Dynamic Inter-connection of Collaborating Agents with Multi-layered Application Abstraction Based on a Software-Bus System
This paper proposes a framework which allows dynamic allocation and linking of agents to underlying low-level hardware control and its architecture is introduced and an application example is outlined.

Optimal energy storage control policies for the smart power grid
This work derives a threshold-based control policy that attempts to maintain balanced power consumption from the grid at all times, in the presence of continual generation and completion of demands, and proves that the policy is asymptotically optimal as the storage capacity becomes large, and numerically shows that it performs very well even for finite capacity.
Optimal operation strategy of battery energy storage system to real-time electricity price in Denmark
Simulation results show, that the proposed optimal operation strategy for a battery energy storage system (BESS) in relation to the real-time electricity price in order to achieve the maximum profits of the BESS.
Residential energy system control and management using adaptive dynamic programming
Adapt dynamic programming is applied to the residential energy system control and management, with an emphasis on home battery use connected to power grids, built upon a self-learning architecture with only a single critic module instead of the action-critic dual module architecture.
Optimal control of a grid-connected hybrid electrical energy storage system for homes
The optimal control algorithm for the HEES system is developed, which aims at minimization of the total electricity cost over a billing period under a general electricity energy price function and has polynomial time complexity.
