BACKGROUND Nonfunctioning pituitary adenomas (NFPAs) are among the most common pituitary lesions and may present with hypopituitarism and/or hyperprolactinemia. OBJECTIVE To review the existing literature as it pertains to preoperative endocrine assessment in the workup for NFPAs.
