Two boys with congenital periureteral bladder diverticula without vesicoureteral reflux but with severe hydronephrosis and ureteral obstruction are described. No bladder outflow obstruction was present. Urinary tract infection was the presenting symptom in both boys, and this is the most common presenting symptom of bladder diverticula.
