Three compounds, namely the interesting biflavanonol GB-2(naringenin 1-3, 11-8-dihydroquercetin, 1), 1-4',1-5,11-5,1-7,11-7-pentahydroxyflavanone(l-3,11-8)chromone [naringenin-(3 -8) 5,7-dihydroxychromone, 21 and stigmasterol, have been isolated from the leaves of Cratoxylum neriifolium Kurz. Compounds 1 and 2 show rotameric behavior due to the presence of a single bond between the highly substituted flavanone and flavanonol part and the flavanone and chromone part, respectively. Complete NMR…

Quinonoids from the barks of Cratoxylum formosum subsp. pruniflorum

A mixture of new bianthrones J (1a and 1b) was isolated from the barks of Cratoxylum formosum subsp. pruniflorum together with six known quinonoids, namely bianthrone A1 (2), vismones E (3) and D

Isolation and structure elucidation of highly antioxidative 3,8″-linked biflavanones and flavanone-C-glycosides from Garcinia buchananii bark.

Findings demonstrate that G. buchananii bark extract is a rich natural source of antioxidant molecules and has an extraordinarily high antioxidative power.

Complete NMR assignments of the antibacterial biflavonoid GB1 from Garcinia kola.

From the antibacterial fraction of the roots of Garcinia kola, 3'',4',4''',5,5'',7,7''-heptahydroxy-3,8''-biflavanone (GB1) was isolated as the major constituent, whose interesting conformations were

A new NMR approach for structure determination of thermally unstable biflavanones and application to phytochemicals from Garcinia buchananii

It is demonstrated in the present study that the 1,1‐ADEQUATE could be successfully used as a powerful alternative approach to confirm the C‐C connectivities in 1, avoiding detrimental conditions.

New highly in vitro antioxidative 3,8″-linked Biflav(an)ones and Flavanone-C-glycosides from Garcinia buchananii stem bark.

This study describes additional antioxidants from Garcinia buchananii bark extract using hydrogen peroxide scavenging, oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC), and trolox equivalent antioxidant capacity (TEAC) assays.

Preussianone, a New Flavanone-Chromone Biflavonoid from Garcinia preussii Engl

A new flavanone-chromone biflavonoid, preussianone, has been isolated from the leaves of Garcinia preussii, along with four known bIflavonoids, and its biological properties against several bacterial strains were evaluated.

9 Phenolic Constituents and Antioxidant Properties of some Thai Plants Pitchaon Maisuthisakul

Thai plants have been used as medicines for many centuries because they contain active phytochemicals including phenolic compounds. These components function as antibiotics, help to make cell walls
