AbstractWe study teleparallel gravitational theories which are invariant under the conformal transformations. The wide family of the gravitational Lagrangians that are invariant under conformal transformations has been investigated. Cosmological solutions inspired by the observational data for a flat Universe in vacuum have been found. There are significant limitations in adding matter fields to the cosmological models by preserving the conformal symmetry. Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW…

On Friedmann–Robertson–Walker model in conformal teleparallel gravity

In this paper we use the conformal teleparallel gravity to study an isotropic and homogeneous Universe which is settled by the Friedmann–Robertson–Walker metric. The conformal symmetry demands the

Conformal teleparallel theories and Weyl geometry

Despite the fact that General Relativity (GR) has been very successful, many alternative theories of gravity have attracted the attention of a significant number of theoretical physicists. Among

Nonmetricity theories and aspects of gauge symmetry

In this paper we discuss on the phenomenological viability of nonmetricity theories of gravity which are based in the class of generalized Weyl spacetimes – denoted by W 4 – where arbitrary

Covariant Hořava-like and mimetic Horndeski gravity: cosmological solutions and perturbations

We consider a variant of the Nojiri–Odintsov covariant Hořava-like gravitational model, where diffeomorphism invariance is broken dynamically via a non-standard coupling to a perfect fluid. The

Mimetic Gravity: A Review of Recent Developments and Applications to Cosmology and Astrophysics

Mimetic gravity is a Weyl-symmetric extension of General Relativity, related to the latter by a singular disformal transformation, wherein the appearance of a dust-like perfect fluid can mimic cold

Recovering a MOND-like acceleration law in mimetic gravity

We reconsider the recently proposed mimetic gravity, focusing in particular on whether the theory is able to reproduce the inferred flat rotation curves of galaxies. We extend the theory by adding a

New Modified Mimetic Gravity

A modified Mimetic gravity (MMG) is proposed as a generalization of general relativity. The model contain a physical metric which is function of an auxiliary (unphysical) metric and a Lyra's metric.

Cosmological dark sector from a mimetic–metric–torsion perspective

We generalize the basic theory of mimetic gravity by extending its purview to the general metric-compatible geometries that admit torsion, in addition to curvature. This essentially implies

Bounce models within teleparallel modified gravity

In this paper, working in a Friedman-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker (FLRW), first, in the flat case, we recover the generalized Friedman equation of Quantum Loop cosmology, and therefore the cosmological

Modelling of a compact anisotropic star as an anisotropic fluid sphere in f(T) gravity

In this article, the authors have discussed a new exact model of anisotropic stars in the f(T) theory of gravity. A parametric form of the metric functions has been implemented to solve the dynamical

Anisotropic Weyl symmetry and cosmology

We construct an anisotropic Weyl invariant theory in the ADM formalism and discuss its cosmological consequences. It extends the original anisotropic Weyl invariance of Ho?ava-Lifshitz gravity using

Conformally invariant teleparallel theories of gravity

We analyze the construction of conformal theories of gravity in the realm of teleparallel theories. We first present a family of conformal theories which are quadratic in the torsion tensor and are

Making the Case for Conformal Gravity

We review some recent developments in the conformal gravity theory that has been advanced as a candidate alternative to standard Einstein gravity. As a quantum theory the conformal theory is both

Conformal invariance and torsion in general relativity

We study a theory for gravity in which the linear connections are assumed to be arbitrary, except that they are restricted to satisfy the metric condition ∇μgλν=0. A scalar field is added to the

Conformal symmetry and accelerating cosmology in teleparallel gravity

We discuss conformal issues of pure and extended teleparallel gravity. In particular, we present formulations of conformal transformation in teleparallel gravity. Furthermore, we propose conformal

Teleparallel gauge theory of gravity

In this work a tetrad theory of gravity, invariant under conformal transformations, is investigated. The action of the theory is similar to the action of Maxwell's electromagnetism. The role of the

Geometrization of electromagnetism in tetrad-spin-connection gravity

The metric-affine Lagrangian of Ponomarev and Obukhov for the unified gravitational and electromagnetic field is linear in the Ricci scalar and quadratic in the tensor of homothetic curvature. We

A Class of Elementary Particle Models Without Any Adjustable Real Parameters

Conventional particle theories such as the Standard Model have a number of freely adjustable coupling constants and mass parameters, depending on the symmetry algebra of the local gauge group and the

Conformal transformation in f(T) theories

It is well known that f(R) theories are dynamically equivalent to a particular class of scalar-tensor theories. In analogy to the f(R) extension of the Einstein-Hilbert action of general relativity,
