We point out that the flavor problem in theories with dynamical electroweak symmetry breaking can be effectively decoupled if the physics above the TeV scale is strongly conformal, and the electroweak order parameter has a scaling dimension d = 1+ ǫ with ǫ ≃ 1/few. There are many restrictions on small values of ǫ: for ǫ≪ 1, electroweak symmetry breaking requires a finetuning similar to that of the standard model; large-N conformal field theories (including those obtained from the AdS/CFT… Expand

Superconformal technicolor: Models and phenomenology
In supersymmetric theories with a strong conformal sector, soft supersymmetry breaking naturally gives rise to confinement and chiral symmetry breaking in the strong sector at the TeV scale. WeExpand
Effective Theory of a Light Dilaton
We consider scenarios where strong conformal dynamics constitutes the ultraviolet completion of the physics that drives electroweak symmetry breaking. We show that in theories where the operatorExpand
Minimal conformal technicolor and precision electroweak tests
We study the minimal model of conformal technicolor, an SU(2) gauge theory near a strongly coupled conformal fixed point, with conformal symmetry softly broken by technifermion mass terms. ConformalExpand
Can the nearly conformal sextet gauge model hide the Higgs impostor
Abstract New results are reported from large scale lattice simulations of a frequently discussed strongly interacting gauge theory with a fermion flavor doublet in the two-index symmetric (sextet)Expand
Flavor in minimal conformal technicolor
We construct a complete, realistic, and natural UV completion of minimal conformal technicolor that explains the origin of quark and lepton masses and mixing angles. As in “bosonic technicolor,” weExpand
Warped electroweak breaking without custodial symmetry
Abstract We propose an alternative to the introduction of an extra gauge (custodial) symmetry to suppress the contribution of KK modes to the T parameter in warped theories of electroweak breaking.Expand
A dangerous irrelevant UV-completion of the composite Higgs
A bstractOne of the most challenging hurdles to the construction of realistic composite Higgs models is the generation of Yukawa couplings for the Standard Model fermions. This problem can beExpand
Signatures of extra dimensions from upsilon decays with a light gaugephobic Higgs boson
Abstract We explore non-standard Higgs phenomenology in the gaugephobic Higgs model in which the Higgs can be lighter than the usually quoted current experimental bound. The Higgs propagates in theExpand
Conformality or confinement: (IR)relevance of topological excitations
What distinguishes two asymptotically-free non-abelian gauge theories on R4, one of which is just below the conformal window boundary and confines, while the other is slightly above the boundary andExpand
Relaxation of the composite Higgs little hierarchy
A bstractWe describe a composite Higgs scenario in which a cosmological relaxation mechanism naturally gives rise to a hierarchy between the weak scale and the scale of spontaneous global symmetryExpand

Using new insights into strongly coupled gauge theories arising from analytic calculations and lattice simulations, we explore a framework for technicolor model building that relies on a non-trivialExpand
Ads/CFT correspondence and symmetry breaking
Abstract We study, using the dual AdS description, the vacua of field theories where some of the gauge symmetry is broken by expectation values of scalar fields. In such vacua, operators built out ofExpand
RS1, custodial isospin and precision tests
We study precision electroweak constraints within a RS1 model with gauge fields and fermions in the bulk. The electroweak gauge symmetry is enhanced to SU(2)L × SU(2)R × U(1)B−L, thereby providing aExpand
Effective Lagrangian in the Randall-Sundrum model and electroweak physics
We consider the two-brane Randall-Sundrum (RS) model with bulk gauge fields. We carefully match the bulk theory to a 4D low-energy effective Lagrangian. In addition to the four-fermion operatorsExpand

Chiral hierarchies from slowly running couplings in technicolor theories.
TLDR
Chiral-symmetry breaking in asymptotically free theories with slowly running couplings is analyzed and an enhancement of the fermion condensate defined with the ultraviolet cutoff M, while the Goldstone-boson decay constant F remains essentially unaltered. Expand
Implications of Dynamical Symmetry Breaking
