PURPOSE OF REVIEW Confocal laser endomicroscopy is an emerging field of endoscopic imaging allowing gastroenterologists to obtain in-vivo histology of the gastrointestinal mucosa. The present review will address the more recent advances in confocal laser endomicroscopy and discuss its future.
