Abstract Classical world-sheet string theory has recently been shown to be nonintegrable and chaotic in various confining string theory backgrounds – the AdS soliton background in particular. In this Letter we study a minisuperspace quantization of the theory and look at properties of the spectrum like the distribution of level spacing, which are indicative of quantum order or chaos. In the quantum spectrum we find a gradual transition from chaotic (Wigner GOE) to integrable (Poisson) regime as… Expand

Chaos of QCD string from holography
• Physics
• Physical Review D
• 2019
It is challenging to quantify chaos of QCD, because nonperturbative QCD accompanies nonlocal observables. By using holography, we find that QCD strings at large Nc and strong coupling limit exhibitExpand
Gravitational collapse, chaos in CFT correlators and the information paradox
• Physics

A bstractWe study the interplay between a particular marginal deformation of $\mathcal{N}$ = 4 super Yang-Mills theory, the β deformation, and integrability in the holographic setting. Using modernExpand
Analytic integrability for strings on η and λ deformed backgrounds
A bstractIn this paper, based on simple analytic techniques, we explore the integrability conditions for classical stringy configurations defined over η as well as λ-deformed backgrounds. We performExpand
A quantum Rosetta Stone for the information paradox
The black hole information loss paradox epitomizes the contradictions between general relativity and quantum field theory. The AdS/conformal field theory (CFT) correspondence provides an implicitExpand
Chaos from the ring string in a Gauss-Bonnet black hole in AdS5 space
• Physics

By the Poincare sections, the dynamical behaviors of the ring string in the AdS-Gauss-Bonnet (AdS-GB) black hole are studied. A threshold value of the Gauss-Bonnet (GB) parameter $\lambda$ are foundExpand
Numerical Bootstrap in Quantum Mechanics
We study the effectiveness of the numerical bootstrap techniques recently developed in [1] for quantum mechanical systems. We find that for a double well potential the bootstrap method correctlyExpand

Integrability lost: Chaotic dynamics of classical strings on a confining holographic background
• Physics

Abstract It is known that classical string dynamics on pure AdS 5 × S 5 is integrable and plays an important role in solvability. This is a deep and central issue in holography. Here we investigateExpand
