Nerve injury is a serious complication associated with dental implant surgery. Following nerve injury, the migration of Schwann cells (SCs) supports nerve regeneration. Concentrated growth factor (CGF) belongs to a new generation of biomaterials that contain fibrin matrix, as well as a number of growth factors that affect the migration of various types of cells, including endothelial cells and cancer cells. To the very best of our knowledge, there are no available studies to date on the…

Effect of autogenous growth factors released from platelet concentrates on the osteogenic differentiation of periodontal ligament fibroblasts: a comparative study
TLDR
Both CGF and L-PRF can promote the proliferation and osteogenic differentiation of PDLFs and no significant differences were found between two groups for ALP activity.
Angiogenic Properties of Concentrated Growth Factors (CGFs): The Role of Soluble Factors and Cellular Components
TLDR
CGFs are able to promote endothelial angiogenesis through their soluble and cellular components and that CGFs can be used as a biomaterial for therapeutic vasculogenesis in the field of tissue regeneration is suggested.
Effects of concentrated growth factor on proliferation, migration, and differentiation of human dental pulp stem cells in vitro
TLDR
The findings confirmed that concentrated growth factor promoted cell proliferation, migration, and the dental pulp stem cell–mediated dentinogenesis and angiogenesis process, by which it might act as a growth factor–loaded scaffold to facilitate dentin–pulp complex healing.
Effects of concentrated growth factors on the angiogenic properties of dental pulp cells and endothelial cells: an in vitro study.
TLDR
Concentrated growth factors showed proangiogenic effects on dental pulp cells and endothelial cells and have good application potential for dental pulp revascularization.
The use of fat grafting and platelet‐rich plasma for wound healing: A review of the current evidence
TLDR
The evidence in both in vitro and animal studies on the mechanistic relationship between fat and PRP and how this translates to a benefit in wound healing is evaluated.
Analysis of CGF Biomolecules, Structure and Cell Population: Characterization of the Stemness Features of CGF Cells and Osteogenic Potential
TLDR
It is found that CGF has a complex inner structure capable of influencing the release of growth factors, metabolites, and cells that are able to differentiate into osteoblasts producing a mineralized matrix.
Influence of Genetically Modified Human Umbilical Cord Blood Mononuclear Cells on the Expression of Schwann Cell Molecular Determinants in Spinal Cord Injury
TLDR
The effect of genetically modified human umbilical cord blood mononuclear cells on the expression of SC molecular determinants in SCI is studied.
Schwann cells genetically modified to express S100A4 increases GAP43 expression in spiral ganglion neurons in vitro
TLDR
SCs genetically modified to overexpress the S100A4 could up-regulate the GAP43 expression in SGNs and enhanced the migratory ability of SCs.
Quantification of growth factors in different platelet concentrates
TLDR
The results showed that the bFGF levels in CGF and PRF were significantly higher than that in activated PRP, and the levels did not differ significantly among activatedPRP, PRF, and CGF.
Investigation of Keratin and Keratin-Containing Composite Biomaterials: Applications in Peripheral Nerve Regeneration
TLDR
This work examines the effect of keratin aggregation during a widely-used purification step, dialysis ultra-filtration, on material characteristics of the final keratin product when fabricated into a hydrogel and explored a blend made from keratin and type 1 collagen.

Erythropoietin promotes Schwann cell migration and assembly of the provisional extracellular matrix by recruiting β1 integrin to the cell surface
TLDR
A model in which Epo promotes Schwann cell migration and assembly of the provisional extracellular matrix in the injured peripheral nerve is supported by its effects on integrin recruitment to the cell surface and local FN production.
Neuregulin‐1/glial growth factor stimulates Schwann cell migration by inducing α5 β1 integrin–ErbB2–focal adhesion kinase complex formation
TLDR
Data suggest that GGF plays an important modulatory role in Schwann cell migration after nerve crush by inducing α5β1 integrin–ErbB2–FAK complex formation.
Neuregulin Facilitates Nerve Regeneration by Speeding Schwann Cell Migration via ErbB2/3-Dependent FAK Pathway
TLDR
As neuregulin successfully improves axo-glial interaction by speeding Sc migration via the erbB2/3-FAK pathway, therapeutic use of neUREgulin may serve as a promising strategy to facilitate the progress of nerve regeneration after PNI.
Growth factors, CD34 positive cells, and fibrin network analysis in concentrated growth factors fraction
TLDR
The aim of this study was to evaluate the presence of TGF‐β1 and VEGF in CGF and also in PPP and RBC layers, and since circulating stem cells are recruited from blood to injured tissue for healing the authors also evaluated the existence of CD34 positive cells.
Effect of concentrated growth factors on beagle periodontal ligament stem cells in vitro.
TLDR
Results showed that CGF significantly promoted the proliferation of PDLSCs, and exhibited a dose‑dependent effect on the activation and differentiation of the stem cells.
Platelet-rich Concentrates Differentially Release Growth Factors and Induce Cell Migration In Vitro
TLDR
The strongest migration of MSC occurred in response to L-PRF, and more HUVEC migration was seen in L- PRF and blood clot compared withL-PRP, and correlations between individual growth factors with the initial platelet/leukocyte counts or the induced cell migration were uncovered.
The dynamics of beta 1 integrin expression during peripheral nerve regeneration.
TLDR
The morphological appearance and immunohistochemical properties of the cells suggest that the majority of beta 1 integrin-positive cells are endoneurial fibroblast-like cells, which are similar in both experimental groups.
The dynamics of β1 integrin expression during peripheral nerve regeneration
TLDR
The morphological appearance and immunohistochemical properties of the cells suggest that the majority of β1 integrin-positive cells are endoneurial fibroblast-like cells, which may have an essential role in the formation and strengthening of the normal peripheral nerve structures.
