We present a new comprehensive kinetic model for hydrogenation (HYD) and the hydrogenolysis of carbon-heteroatom feeds (e.g., hydrodesulfurization, HDS) over sulfide catalysts composed of a group VI metal (e.g. Mo) and a group VIII metal (e.g. Co). The model takes into account the dynamics of surface diffusion processes. It describes the control, by spillover hydrogen flowing from the group VIII metal sulfide, of the catalyst sites located on the group VI metal sulfide. The calculations are… CONTINUE READING
