A novel segetane (1) and jatrophane diterpene (2), together with five known diterpenoids possessing segetane (3), jatrophane (4), and ingenane skeletons (5–7), were isolated from the methanol extract of Euphorbia taurinensis All. The structure elucidation of the compounds was performed by means of extensive spectroscopic analysis, including HRESIMS and 1D (1H, J-modulated spin-echo carbon experiment) and 2D (HSQC, HMBC, COSY, NOESY) NMR experiments. The multidrug resistance reversing and…

Diterpene alkaloids from Aconitum anthora and assessment of the hERG-inhibiting ability of Aconitum alkaloids.

A new norditerpene alkaloid was isolated from the whole plant of ACONITUM ANTHORA L. besides the known isotalatizidine and hetisinone, and the effects of the isolated compounds on hERG channels were studied by the whole-cell patch clamp technique.

Diterpene alkaloids from the roots of Aconitum moldavicum and assessment of Nav 1.2 sodium channel activity of aconitum alkaloids.

Drawing conclusions on the structure-activity relationships of Aconitum alkaloids concerning Nav 1.2 channel inhibitory activity are proposed by exhaustive comparison of data of previously published computerized QSAR studies on diterpene alkal steroids.

Anthranoyl-substituted Norditerpene Alkaloids from Aconitum vulparia Rchb. and Their Cytotoxic Activities

The structure of the new compound was determined by means of HRMS, 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy, and 1, 3 and 4 were found to exhibit marginal cell growth inhibitory activity against breast adenocarcinoma (MCF-7) and cervix adenOCarcinomas (HeLa) cells.

Bioactivity‐guided Isolation of Antiproliferative Diterpenoids from Euphorbia kansui

The 12 ingenol‐ type diterpenoids exhibited weak to moderate cytotoxicities, whereas the two jatrophane‐type diter penoids displayed no antiproliferative effects, which, however, may increase the antitumour efficacy of those ingenol-type dterpenoids.

Euphorbia Species-derived Diterpenes and Coumarins as Multidrug Resistance Modulators in Human Colon Carcinoma Cells.

Latilagascene B was demonstrated to be an effective P-glycoprotein inhibitor, able to increase doxorubicin accumulation in resistant cells, however not able to restore doxorbicin cytotoxicity in LoVo/Dx cells.

Jatrophane diterpenes as inhibitors of chikungunya virus replication: structure-activity relationship and discovery of a potent lead.

The present results provide additional support for a previous hypothesis that the anti-CHIKV activity could involve a PKC-dependent mechanism and demonstrate that potency and selectivity are very sensitive to the substitution pattern on the jatrophane skeleton.

Euphoportlandols A and B, tetracylic diterpene polyesters from Euphorbia portlandica and their anti-MDR effects in cancer cells.

Two new tetracyclic diterpene polyesters, euphoportlandols A and B, have been isolated and found to be inhibitors of P-glycoprotein activity and evaluated for their ability to inhibit multidrug resistance in cancer cells.

One-Step Semisynthesis of a Segetane Diterpenoid from a Jatrophane Precursor via a Diels-Alder Reaction.

In an in vitro activity test, 1 exhibited moderate anti-inflammatory activity, whereas both its precursor (2) and the relevant intermediate (2a, IC50 = 1.56 μM) exhibited significant anti- inflammatory activity.
