In this paper, the characteristics of the complete photonic band gaps for two-dimensional nonlinear plasma photonic crystals are studied theoretically by using the finite-difference time-domain method. The two-dimensional structure comprises nonlinear rods with different geometrical shapes and orientations in a plasma background with square and honeycomb lattices.
