Abstract The mitochondrial DNA of Naumann’s thrush Turdus naumanni (Passeriformes: Turdidae) is 16,750 bp long with A + T contents of 52.79%. It has typical circular mitochondrial genomes that encode the complete set of 37 genes which are usually found in birds. All protein-coding genes use the standard mitochondrial initiation codon ATG, except for ND2 and COI start with GTG. TAN is the most frequent stop codon, and AGN and T– – are also occurred very common. All tRNAs possess the classic…
The complete mitochondrial genome sequence of Zoothera aurea (Aves, Passeriformes, Turdidae)
The white’s thrush Zoothera aurea breeds in wet boreal forest with pinophyta, in eastern Asia and Siberia, and the complete mitochondrial genome sequence consisted of 16,778 base pairs encoding 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 2 ribosomal RNAs (rRNAs), 22 transferRNAs (tRNAs) and non-Coding regions.
Complete mitochondrial genome sequence of Eurasian blackbird, Turdus merula (Aves: Turdidae)
The complete mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) sequence of Eurasian blackbird, Turdus merula was determined by shotgun sequencing and the phylogenetic tree of T. merula and 13 other species belonging to order Passeriformes was built.
Characterization of a complete mitochondrial genome of Turdus ruficollis (Passeriformes: Turdidae)
The complete mitochondrial genome of T. ruficollis would be of great utility for population genetics and phylogeography of the Turdidae family and would also provide meritorious insights for future studies on conservation, genetics, and phylogeny of the Passeriformes family.
Characterisation of the Complete Mitochondrial Genome of Critically Endangered Mustela lutreola (Carnivora: Mustelidae) and Its Phylogenetic and Conservation Implications
Comparative interspecies analyses confirmed the close phylogenetic relationship of the European mink to the so-called ferret group, clustering the European polecat, the steppe polecat and the black-footed ferret.
Complete mitochondrial genome of White-rumped Munia Lonchura striata swinhoei (Passeriformes: Estrildidae)
Both neighbor-joining and Bayesian analyses support that Lonchura striata swinhoei has close relative with Taeniopygia guttata, a close relative of the true finches and true sparrows.

The complete sequence of the mitochondrial genome of Buteo buteo (Aves, Accipitridae) indicates an early split in the phylogeny of raptors.
Phylogenetic analyses indicate an early split between Accipitridae and Falconidae, which can be assumed to have taken place in the late Cretaceous 65-83 MYA, according to molecular dating of other avian divergence times.
Mitochondrial genomes and avian phylogeny: complex characters and resolvability without explosive radiations.
By showing the avian tree is, in principle, resolvable, it is demonstrated that the radiation of birds is amenable to standard evolutionary analysis.
