The Hubbard model has been investigated widely by many authors, while this work may be new in two aspects. One, we focus on the possible effects of the positions of the gaps associated with the pairing and the spin density wave. Two, we suggest that the models with different parameters are appropriate for different materials (or a material in different doped regions). This will lead to some new insights into the high temperature superconductors. It is shown that the SDW can appear at some…

Crossover from a pseudogap state to a superconducting state
- Physics

On the basis of our calculation we deduce that the particular electronic structure of cuprate superconductors confines Cooper pairs to be firstly formed in the antinodal region which is far from the…
Competition between the pseudogap and superconductivity in the high-Tc copper oxides
- PhysicsNature
- 2009
It is concluded that the pseudogap competes with the superconductivity by depleting the spectral weight available for pairing, as demonstrated by a study of two spectral weights using angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy.
Superconductivity in a system with preformed pairs
- Physics
- 1997
We discuss the phenomenology of superconductivity resulting from the Bose condensation of preformed pairs coexisting with unpaired fermions. We show that this transition is more mean-field-like than…
From underdoped to overdoped cuprates: two quantum phase transitions.
- PhysicsJournal of physics. Condensed matter : an Institute of Physics journal

A precise density of states calculation is performed and it is found that there are two QPTs and the corresponding critical concentrations associated with the change of the Fermi surface topology upon doping.
Broken rotational symmetry in the pseudogap phase of a high-Tc superconductor
- PhysicsNature
- 2010
It is concluded that the pseudogap phase is an electronic state that strongly breaks four-fold rotational symmetry, which narrows the range of possible states considerably, pointing to stripe or nematic order.
Spin-bag mechanism of high-temperature superconductivity.

In oxide superconductors the local suppression of antiferromagnetic correlations in the vicinity of a hole lowers the energy of the system. This quasi two-dimensional bag of weakened spin order…

Angle-resolved photoemission on underdoped La1.895Sr0.105CuO4 reveals that in the pseudogap phase, the dispersion has two branches located above and below the Fermi level with a minimum at the Fermi…
From a Single-Band Metal to a High-Temperature Superconductor via Two Thermal Phase Transitions
- PhysicsScience

Upon further cooling, spectroscopic signatures of superconductivity begin to grow close to the superconducting transition temperature (Tc), entangled in an energy-momentum–dependent manner with the preexisting pseudogap features, ushering in a ground state with coexisting orders.

Inelastic neutron scattering results for HgBa2CuO4+δ reveal a fundamental collective magnetic mode associated with the unusual order and are consistent with a particular type of order involving circulating orbital currents, and with the notion that the phase diagram is controlled by a quantum critical point.
Superinsulator and quantum synchronization
- PhysicsNature

It is shown that at a certain finite temperature, a Cooper-pair insulator undergoes a transition to a superinsulating state with infinite resistance, and it is presented experimental evidence of this transition in titanium nitride films and shown that the superinsulation state is dual to the superconducting state.
