Colletotrichum gossypii (Cg) (Glomerella gossypii) and Colletotrichum gossypii var. cephalosporioides (Cgc) are pathogens of anthracnose and ramulose in cotton (Gossypium hirsutum). These pathogens cause typical and distinct symptoms in susceptible plants and they occur in the mitosporic phase of hosts in nature. This work aimed to check the occurrence of sexual and vegetative incompatibility reactions between and within isolates of Cg and Cgc, and also to study some cytological aspects…

Vegetative Incompatibility Among Monoconidial Isolates of Bipolaris sorokiniana
The results obtained with different culture media for the vegetative compatibility/incompatibility genotypes suggested that the type of substratum influences these reactions, but the result suggests that there is no induction of expression of different proteins in vegetative incompatibility reactions.
Epizootiology and Phylogenetics of Entomopathogenic Fungi Associated with Fiorinia externa ferris(Hemiptera: Diaspididae) in the Northeastern USA
This work isolated and taxonomically and genetically identified entomopathogens, phytopathogens and endophytic fungi associated with F. externa, a pest of eastern hemlock in the northeastern United States.

Variabilidade genética de isolados do complexo Colletotrichum associados a sementes de algodoeiro, por meio de técnicas moleculares e inoculação em plantas
The results showed that the biochemical markers used were not able to distinguish the isolate of anthracnosis from the isolates of ramulosis, and the genetic similarity between the isolate demonstrated by RAPD analysis, was 51,78%, indicating the potential of this technique.
Evidence for mating between islates of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides with different host specificities
Individual isolates of the ibiquitous plant pathogen Colletotrichum gloeosporioides (teleomorph Glomerella cingulata) can have very restricted host ranges, and some isolates that are specifically pathogenic to different, distantly-related hosts are sexually compatible.

Heterokaryon fonnation between different fungal individuals is an important component of many fungal life cycles and may serve as the first step in the parasexual cycle and the transmission of
The Use of Vegetative Compatibility and Heterokaryosis to Determine Potential Asexual Gene Exchange in Colletotrichum gloeosporioides
Abstract Auxotrophic and nitrate nonutilizing (nit) mutants were used to characterize vegetative compatibility, heterokaryosis, and asexual gene exchange in the fungal biological control agent
Mating system of the filamentous ascomycete, Glomerella cingulata
Five self-sterile strains of Glomerella cingulata from pecan were crossed in all possible combinations and showed that the ascospore progeny had stably inherited the mating pattern of one of the parental strains and that the mating type had segregated 1:1 among the F1 isolates.
The perfect stage of the cotton anthracnose.
Perithecia of the genus Glomerella, the perfect stage of certain species of Gloeosporium and Colletotrichum, have been developed in most cases under artificial conditions, either in pure culture on
Inhibition of Aflatoxin B1 Production by Aspergillus parasiticus Using Nonaflatoxigenic Strains: Role of Vegetative Compatibility
The composition of vegetative compatibility groups within a population may be of minor importance in predicting the efficacy of a particular nonaflatoxigenic strain for the biological control of aflatoxin contamination of crops.
Acervulus Initiation in Colletotrichum Capsici
The structure and synthesis ofmoniliformin, a novel cyclobutane microbial toxin, and its application in Fusarium section Liseola, Berlin 1974 are described.
