Venous thromboembolic events (VTE) are a morbidity and mortality concern for patients undergoing laparoscopic bariatric surgery. Although VTE prophylaxis is recommended in bariatric surgery, data with regard to monitoring and appropriate dosing of low-molecular-weight heparin are limited.
