This paper is concerned with the statistical analysis of data obtained in studies of the joint action of drugs. The three methods that are compared are illustrated on real data (1), using the statistical package SAS. It is argued that while the results obtained using these methods do not differ substantially, the method allowing for estimating simultaneously all required parameters is to be preferred. It allows for a statistical test for the significance of the joint action of the drug…

Design and analysis of drug combination experiments.
TLDR
A novel, simple and easy to implement parametric modeling approach to assess synergy is presented and an extended three parameter log-logistic model is used to analyse the data and calculate confidence intervals of the interaction indices.

TLDR
The median-effect principle and its mass-action law based computer software are gaining increased applications in biomedical sciences, from how to effectively evaluate a single compound or entity to how to beneficially use multiple drugs or modalities in combination therapies.
Nonlinear Regression Analysis and Its Applications
TLDR
This book offers a balanced presentation of the theoretical, practical, and computational aspects of nonlinear regression and provides background material on linear regression, including the geometrical development for linear and nonlinear least squares.
Super in vitro synergy between inhibitors of dihydrofolate reductase and inhibitors of other folate-requiring enzymes: the critical role of polyglutamylation.
TLDR
The ideal requirement for the folic acid-enhanced synergy is that a nonpolyglutamylatable DHFR inhibitor be combined with a polyglut amylatable inhibitor of another folate-requiring enzyme.
