Ultraviolet spectrophotometric and gas-liquid chromatographic methods for the analysis of tablets containing 17 α -ethynylestradiol 3-methyl ether and 17 α -ethynyl-19-nortestosterone have been developed. The results obtained by the two methods are compared. The gas-liquid chromatographic method is found to be superior to the ultraviolet method, especially on aged tablets.
