Tantalizing LHC hints suggest that resonances of the Electroweak Symmetry Breaking Sector might exist at the TeV scale. We recall a few key meson-meson resonances in the GeV region that could have high-energy analogues which we compare, as well as the corresponding unitarized effective theories describing them. While detailed dynamics may be different, the constraints of unitarity, causality and global-symmetry breaking, incorporated in the Inverse Amplitude Method, allow to carry some…

Strongly Interacting Electroweak Symmetry Breaking Sector with a Higgs-like light scalar
• Physics
• 2014
The apparent finding of a 125-GeV light Higgs boson closes unitarity of the minimal Standard Model (SM), that is weakly interacting: this is an exceptional feature not generally true if new physics
ATLAS diboson excess from Stueckelberg mechanism
• Physics

A bstractWe discuss the diboson excess seen by the ATLAS collaboration around 2 TeV in the LHC run I at s=8$$\sqrt{s}=8$$ TeV. We explore the possibility that such an excess can arise from a Z′

Interpreting a 2 TeV resonance in WW scattering
• Physics

A diboson excess has been observed ---albeit with very limited statistical significance--- in $WW$, $WZ$ and $ZZ$ final states at the LHC experiments using the accumulated 8 TeV data. Assuming that

We are exploring a generic strongly-interacting Electroweak Symmetry Breaking Sector (EWSBS) with the low-energy effectie field theory for the four experimentally known particles ($W_L^\pm$, $Z_L$,
Diboson excess in the Higgs singlet and vectorlike quark models
• Physics

Diboson resonance with mass of $1.8-2$ TeV is reported successively by CMS and ATLAS experiments in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=8$ TeV. We investigate the potentiality of Higgs singlet as
Review of Scalar Mesons
The formulae needed to parametrise σ, κ, a0(980) and f0(980) are reviewed. For σ and κ, the Adler zero due to Chiral Symmetry Breaking plays a crucial role. The f0(980) and a0(980) are locked to the
Search for high-mass diboson resonances with boson-tagged jets in proton-proton collisions at s=8$$\sqrt{s}=8$$ TeV with the ATLAS detector

A bstractA search is performed for narrow resonances decaying into WW, WZ, or ZZ boson pairs using 20.3 fb−1 of proton-proton collision data at a centre-of-mass energy of s=8$$\sqrt{s}=8$$ TeV
Diffractive pion production at COMPASS: First results on 3$\pi$ final states - neutral mode
The COMPASS experiment at CERN is designed for light hadron spectroscopy with emphasis on the detection of new states, in particular the search for exotic states and glue‐balls. After a short pilot
