OBJECTIVES Oxidant-antioxidant imbalance has an adverse effect on all stages of reproduction. Follicular fluid levels of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase, and the rate of embryo development were compared in women at early perimenopausal and childbearing age, undergoing intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI).
