Concentrations of heavy metals (Cu, Fe, Zn, Mn, Cr, Pb and Cd) in some organs of tench and tissues of its parasite found in Kovada Lake (Turkey) were analyzed using atomic absorption spectrophotometry and subsequently compared with the data from sediments and water. Only Cu, Fe, Zn and Mn were detected in water, sediment, plerocercoids of Ligula intestinalis and fish samples, while levels of Cr, Pb and Cd were below the detection limits.
