Extracts of the brown seaweeds (Sargassum myricocystum) red seaweed (Gracilaria edulis) and green seaweed (Caulerpa racemosa) have been used as a biostimulant to promote seedling emergence and vigour. The two different concentrations (1 and 5%) and soaking durations of (1:1 seed t solution ratio) were used. Results of the present study suggest that the sunflower seed soaked in 5% C. racemosa seaweed extract for 8 h performed significantly in all estimated characters (72% Germination; 15.95 cm…

Characteristics of Liquid Product of Alkaline Treated Sargassum polycystum C.A. Agardh. from Lange Beach, Aceh
Sargassum is known to have potential ingredient s, such as essential nutrients and minerals , which are important for agroindustry and the environment . This study aims to determine the proximate
Algae as a natural alternative for the production of different crops
Algae have achieved a high interest for their applications in the pharmaceutical, fish; animal and man feed industry as well as in agriculture. They have potential as biostimulants and
Effect of Indonesian Macroalgae Based Solid and Liquid Fertilizers on the Growth and Yield of Rice (Oryza sativa)
TLDR
Evaluated macroalgae liquid fertilizer proved to be more effective in promoting yield content based on shoot/root (S/R) ratio, however, 1000 seed weight of rice plants were not affected by fertilizer treatments.
Advances in Plant Microbiome and Sustainable Agriculture: Functional Annotation and Future Challenges
Plants require nutrients for their proper growth and development. After nitrogen phosphate is the second significant element required for plants. Phosphorus is commonly found in form of polyprotic

Extracts of the Brown Seaweed Ascophyllum nodosum Induce Gibberellic Acid (GA3)-independent Amylase Activity in Barley
TLDR
The results suggest that the organic components of A. nodosum extract induce amylase activity independent of GA3 and might act in concert with GA-dependent amyl enzyme production leading to enhanced germination and seedling vigor in barley.
Nutrient content of tropical edible seaweeds, Eucheuma cottonii, Caulerpa lentillifera and Sargassum polycystum
TLDR
The proximate composition, vitamin C, α-tocopherol, dietary fibers, minerals, fatty acid and amino acid profiles of three tropical edible seaweeds, Eucheuma cottonii, Caulerpa lentillifera and Sargassum polycystum were studied.
Effect of seaweed concentrate on hydroponically grown spring barley
TLDR
Spring barley (Hordeum vulgare cv. Triumph) was grown hydroponically over a 6-week period and plants treated with Maxicrop Triple grew faster than plants under either of the two other treatments.
Nutritional evaluation of tropical green seaweeds Caulerpa lentillifera and Ulva reticulata.
TLDR
Comparisons to corresponding nutrient values in other seaweeds and some commonly consumed local vegetables, both seaweeds showed their potential of being health food for human diets or as source of ingredients with high nutritional values.
Hormonal factors controlling the initiation and development of lateral roots
TLDR
The strong inhibiting effect of the cytokinins may well be the basis for the marked inhibition exerted by the root-tip on lateral root formation, while the promoting effects of auxins may explain the previously observed promotion of lateralRoot formation by the young shoot and cotyledons.

Tentative Identification of Cytokinins in Sargassum heterophyllum (Phaeophyceae)
TLDR
The cytokinins /ra/zj-zeatin, dtfiydro-zeatm, and isopentenyladenine have been tentatively identified by HPLC analysis in the brown alga Sargassum heterophyllum (Turn.) J. Ag.
Plant hormones in marine phytoplankton, zooplankton and sea water
TLDR
The presence of several vitamins, for example, B12, thiamin, niacin and biotin, has been demonstrated in natural waters, but the possible occurrence of plant hormones has not previously been considered.
