A study was conducted in and around the union Territory, Chandigarh, India to estimate the prevalence of intestinal parasitic infections in different population groups. The stool samples from a total of 600 subjects selected by cluster sampling technique were examined by direct microscopy. The prevalence of intestinal parasitic infections was found to be 14.6% with highest prevalence of 19% from the slum area.
