Received for publication 26 November 1982. cit.) and H. danilewskyi (Falhis and Bennett, 1961, op. cit.). Neither Culicoides edeni, C. hinmani nor C. arboricola have been previously implicated as vectors of hiaemosporidian parasites. Besides C. crepuscularis, none of the previously proven vectors are present in Florida.
