The purpose of this study was to evaluate the rutin content and radical scavenging activity of the leave and fruit extracts of Morinda citrifolia (Noni). The preparation and evaluation of tablets containing the Noni leaf and fruit extracts were also aimed. In this study, the leaves and fruits of Noni were prepared by maceration technique. Their rutin content and antioxidant activity were determined by using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and 1, 1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH…

Effects of solvent type on phenolics and flavonoids content and antioxidant activities in two varieties of young ginger (Zingiber officinale Roscoe) extracts

The extractive capability of phenolic components from herb material is considerably depended on the type of solvent. In our research three kinds of solvents (methanol, acetone and chloroform)

Anti-proliferative and antioxidative activities of Thai noni/Yor (Morinda citrifolia Linn.) leaf extract.

Thai noni extracts may be safer than the pure compounds, due to their higher safety ratios, which is a good indicator for possible cancer treatment, as well as reduced anti-proliferative effects on all cancer cell lines.

Antioxidant capacity, total phenols, and ascorbic acid content of noni (Morinda citrifolia) fruits and leaves at various stages of maturity

Traditional healers and modern manufacturers both recommend noni (Morinda citrifolia) fruits and leaves for good health. We determined antioxidant capacity, total phenols, and ascorbic-acid content

Hypoglycemic and Hepatoprotective Activity of Fermented Fruit Juice of Morinda citrifolia (Noni) in Diabetic Rats

Proved the hypoglycemic and hepatoprotective activity of M. citrifolia in diabetes-induced rats and revealed significant fatty degeneration as compared to other three groups.

The results suggest that prevention of carcinogen‐DNA adduct formation and the antioxidant activity of TNJ may contribute to the cancer preventive effect of Morinda citrifolia.

Morinda citrifolia (Noni) fruit--phytochemistry, pharmacology, safety.

Current knowledge on the phytochemistry, pharmacology, safety aspects of Noni fruit and Noni-derived products, and health-related claims and benefits is reviewed.

Review of the ethnobotany, chemistry, biological activity and safety of the botanical dietary supplement Morinda citrifolia (noni)*

The goals of this review are to provide an updated categorization of the phytochemical constituents found in noni and to provide perspective for its extensive utilization as a major botanical dietary supplement.

Fast disintegrating tablets containing Rhodiola rosea L. extract.

It was demonstrated that the extract:filler ratio lower than 1:1.5 enables preparation of tablets with the required disintegration time and tablets containing microcrystalline cellulose did not pass the stability test at 40 degrees C/75% RH.

Noni Juice Improves Serum Lipid Profiles and Other Risk Markers in Cigarette Smokers

Noni juice was able to mitigate cigarette smoke-induced dyslipidemia, an activity associated with the presence of iridoids, and decreased cholesterol levels, triglycerides, and hs-CRP among noni juice drinkers.

Preliminary investigation of the anti-inflammatory properties of an aqueous extract from Morinda citrifolia (noni).
