The combination of calcipotriol with methotrexate can strengthen the topical therapy for psoriasis. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the potential of nanostructured lipid carriers (NLCs) loaded with lipophilic calcipotriol and hydrophilic methotrexate as topical therapy. NLCs composed of Precirol ATO 5 with various amounts of squalene as the liquid lipid were prepared. The particle size, surface charge, molecular environment, drug permeation, and skin irritation of the carriers were…

Capsaicin delivery into the skin with lipidic nanoparticles for the treatment of psoriasis
TLDR
NLCs and SLNs have shown a good ability to increase drug accumulation in the various skin layers but NLCs may be a more potential carrier for topical delivery of capsaicin for an effective therapy of psoriasis.
Topical emulgel formulation containing inclusion complex of calcipotriol with cyclodextrin
TLDR
The aim of this study was to develop a new topical drug delivery system of calcipotriol in order to improve the solubility and dissolution characteristics of the drug and reduce the undesirable side effects.
Percutaneous absorption and antibacterial activities of lipid nanocarriers loaded with dual drugs for acne treatment.
TLDR
This is the first report examining skin permeation and antibacterial activities of dual-drug nanocarriers for acne treatment and it is shown that negatively charged NEs and NLCs even strengthened the antibacterial ability against S. aureus compared to the control solution.
SLN and NLC for topical, dermal, and transdermal drug delivery
TLDR
This review focuses on Solid lipid nanoparticles (SLN) and Nanostructured lipid carriers (NLC) for skin administration, which are composed of lipids that resemble those of the skin and sebum, which contribute to their enhanced biocompatibility, with limited toxicological risk.
