Two new isoflavonoids have been isolated from the root bark of Colutea arborescens and identified as 7,3',4'-trimethoxyisoflavan-2',5'-quinone ((3R)-colutequinone) and the corresponding hydroquinone (2',5'-dihydroxy-7,3',4'-tri-methoxyisoflavan) ((3R)-colutehydroquinone).
Isoflavonoids from an Egyptian Collection of Colutea Istria
Two new isoflavonoids have been isolated from the aerial parts of Colutea istria Lam and displayed selective antimicrobial activity against Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus.
Isoflavonoids of the leguminosae.
This account describes 275 new isoflavonoids published between 2008 and 2011 as constituents of the Leguminosae, commenting on their source, identification, biological activity, synthesis, and
A direct route to isoflavan quinones. The synthesis of colutequinones A and B
The first syntheses of colutequinone A and colutequinone B were achieved. Radical generation via phenyliodoso diacetate was superior to radical generation via ammonium persulfate.
Isoflavanquinones from Abrus precatorius roots with their antiproliferative and anti-inflammatory effects.
Findings suggest isoflavanquinones from A. precatorius roots as candidates for further research in cancer treatment and potent anti-inflammatory potential through phagocyte oxidative burst and pro-inflammatory cytokine TNF-α inhibition in vitro.
Isoflavonoids and coumarins from Glycyrrhiza uralensis: antibacterial activity against oral pathogens and conversion of isoflavans into isoflavan-quinones during purification.
Phytochemical investigation of a supercritical fluid extract of Glycyrrhiza uralensis has led to the isolation of 20 known isoflavonoids and coumarins, and glycycarpan (7), a new pterocarpan. The
Vegetative propagation of Colutea arborescens L., a multipurpose leguminous shrub of semiarid climates
The positive relationship between sprouting and rooting suggests that successful propagation is related to the shoot formation potential of the cutting's food reserves, and an efficient method for the vegetative propagation of C. arborescens plants is proposed.
Isoflavonoids and related compounds
It is interesting to note that there has been a slight decrease in the number of new isoflavones isolated during this review period, which may be a temporary slow down in productivity and may also indicate that new compounds are becoming harder to find.
The traditional knowledge on Mexican medicinal plants is taken into account for their possible application in mycoses control, and the relevance of plant antifungal derivatives, particularly the extract features, its active compounds, its mechanism of action and the potential they offer for to mycosis control are discussed.
Colutea arborescens is nodulated by diverse rhizobia in Eastern Morocco
Eighteen isolates of rhizobia isolated from root nodules of Colutea arborescens (Bladder senna) grown in different soils of the eastern area of Morocco were characterized by phenotypic and genomic analyses, and it is suggested that the phenotype of these Rhizobia might have convergent evolved to adapt the local conditions.

Antimicrobial isoflavans from Astragalus species.
Two new antimicrobial isoflavans, 1- hydroxybenzoquinone (astragaluquinone) and (3S)-7,1'-dihydroxy-8,3'-dimethoxyisoflavan (8-methoxyvestitol) were isolated from roots of Astragalus alexandrinus and A. trigonus by spectroscopic methods.
Flavonoid analogues from Pterocarpus species
Abstract Two novel pterocarpans, 8-hydroxy-3,9-dimethoxy- and 3,8-dihydroxy-9-methoxypterocarpan and a new santal analogue were isolated from the heartwood of P. soyauxii. These are accompanied by
Traditional medicinal plants of Thailand, VIII. Isoflavonoids of Dalbergia candenatensis.
Five isoflavonoids, including the new isoflavone quinone, 5-hydroxybowdichione [2], were isolated from the heartwood of Dalbergia candenatensis through bioactivity-directed fractionation.
Mucronulatol, mucroquinone and mucronucarpan, isoflavonoids from Machaerium mucronulatum and M. villosum
Abstract Additionally to the cinnamylphenols described in a previous paper, wood samples of Machaerium mucronulatum and M. villosum contain isoflavones, besides (−)-duartin, (−)- and (±)-mucronulatol
