We report a detection of statistically significant color variations for a sample of 7,531 multiply observed asteroids that are listed in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Moving Object Catalog. Using 5-band photometric observations accurate to ∼ 0.02 mag, we detect color variations in the range 0.06-0.11 mag (rms). These variations appear un-correlated with asteroids physical characteristics such as diameter (in the probed 1-10 km range), taxonomic class, and family membership. Despite such a lack of…

A million asteroid observations in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey

Context. The populations of small bodies of the Solar System (asteroids, comets, Kuiper-Belt objects) are used to constrain the origin and evolution of the Solar System. Both their orbital

The properties of Jovian Trojan asteroids listed in SDSS Moving Object Catalogue 3

We analyse 1187 observations of about 860 unique candidate Jovian Trojan asteroids listed in the 3rd release of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) Moving Object Catalogue. The sample is complete at

Brightness variation distributions among main belt asteroids from sparse light curve sampling with Pan-STARRS 1

The rotational state of asteroids is controlled by various physical mechanisms including collisions, internal damping and the Yarkovsky-O'Keefe-Radzievskii-Paddack (YORP) effect. We have analysed the

TLDR
Evaluating Euclid capability to discover SSOs, and measure their position, apparent magnitude, and SED, and estimating how Euclid will constrain the SSOs dynamical, physical, and compositional properties is evaluated.

Trojan Asteroids in the Kepler Campaign 6 Field

We report on a Kepler spacecraft survey during the K2 mission to characterize the rotational properties of 56 Trojan asteroids in the L4 cloud. More than one rotational period was observed for 51 of

Surface Ice and Tholins on the Extreme Centaur 2012 DR30

2012 is one of the known solar system objects with the largest aphelion distance, exceeding 2200 au, on a high inclination orbit (i = 78°). It has been recognized to be either a borderline
